Phenom 9550 overclock badly. Still a good chip if the price is right but the newer phenoms and athlons overclock much better. only get one if the price is right. The highest overclock I could pull off stable was 2.53 ghz..

Yeah i don’t think most pc use most than 4. But i run a lot of web design apps and other stuff so i would need 8.

@FuhQueToo Now i’m at 2509.63MHz on my 9500, with the standerd amd fan and heatsink. It is about 33.5 C. under medium load. I raised voltage to 1.30, and set the freq. to 228. Will go higher shortly.

wtf…your garbage at overclocking i got an althon xp mobile processor running 2.4 on an upgrade amd cooler under that temperature…and about to build my dragon platform with a black edition quad core processor a 790gx board and running hybrid crossfire until i buy the second video car.

I agree that is friggin hot for doing nothing. I have my Intel Core 2 Quad at 3.6GHZ idles at 28C and games at 40C. Shes on a Zalman 9700. I have a pretty sick system. I have videos of it in my profile.
